Dried comfrey is highly valued in herbal medicine for its ability to accelerate wound healing and tissue regeneration when applied topically as a poultice or salve. It contains allantoin, a compound known for its anti-inflammatory properties, which can help reduce pain and swelling associated with injuries, bruises, and arthritis. Comfrey is also used traditionally to support bone health and fracture healing due to its high content of minerals like calcium and phosphorus, as well as compounds that promote the production of collagen and bone tissue. However, internal use of comfrey is controversial due to its potential hepatotoxicity, and caution should be exercised when using it internally.
All of my dried herbs are either from my garden or locally sourced from small farms in southern Oregon.
Herbs are sold in solid brown bags to keep light off of them and preserve the quality of the herbs.
