Licorice Root can be used in general, for ailments of the gastrointestinal and respiratory tracts.

Dosage and contraindications: Use small doses. do not take internally for more than a 4-6 week period. Use with caution during pregnancy and lactation. Do not take of you have liver disease or or chronic hepatitis. Use with caution if you have high blood pressure. Do not is Licorice if you have estrogen sensitive disorders. May decrease testosterone levels in men. Do not take in conjunction with anti diabetic drugs, insulin, or MAO Inhibitors.

This herb should not be used in isolation or in large doses or for long time periods.
